A hand-poured resin portrait is a picture of your pet or your family built up in layers of tinted resin over a glitter, gold-leaf, pearl or wood ground, then sealed under one clear flood that cures glass-hard and is polished to a mirror gloss. Glazera pours four kinds: two square panels, a 10 cm ornament and a wood slice.

What is a resin portrait made of?
Pigment, glitter, pearl, gold leaf and resin, and on the wood slices, paint on a real tree round. The resin goes on as a liquid and cures glass-hard, and because we tint it and build the portrait up in fine layers, the colour sits inside the piece rather than on its surface. That is also why the light moves through a panel rather than bouncing off it.
Under the portrait is the ground, and the ground is what you are choosing between when you pick a piece:
- Glitter and gold leaf, under the glitter panel: marbled teal, navy, grey or midnight-blue resin flecked and veined with gold.
- Mother-of-pearl or iridescent opal, under the pearl panel: a soft shimmer, or a blue and violet opal shift. You pick which.
- Tinted resin inside a thin gold rim, for the ornament: a 10 cm glossy dome on its own chain.
- A real tree slice, sanded to the grain with the bark edge left on, for the wood slice: the portrait is painted straight onto it.
The full list of what goes into each piece, and the making step by step, is on the materials page.
Which four pieces does Glazera pour?
Two square panels, one ornament and one wood slice. The panels come 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm, the ornament is one size at 10 cm, and the wood slices come 30 or 50 cm across and stand on their own easel.
| Piece | Ground | Sizes | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glitter resin panel | Glitter and gold leaf | 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm | From $149 |
| Pearlescent resin panel | Mother-of-pearl or iridescent opal | 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm | From $129 |
| Resin ornament | Tinted resin in a thin gold rim | 10 cm | $59.99 |
| Resin wood slice | A real tree slice, bark edge and all | 30 or 50 cm across | From $149 |
A "from" price is the smaller size; the ornament is one size and one price. The price for the size you choose is shown live on the create page ahead of any approval, and your card is untouched until checkout.
Is the portrait printed or painted?
Neither one is printed. On the panels and the ornament the portrait is built up in tinted resin, layer on layer, the eyes last. On the wood slices it is painted in raised colour straight onto the grain, then poured over.
The design itself is drawn from your photograph by Tedooo's design technology, and you approve it before we mix anything. What you approve is what gets poured, so approval comes first and payment second. If a first drawing is not right, try different words, another background or another photo and draw once more; every attempt costs nothing.
Where does the gloss come from?
From the last pour. Once the portrait layers have set, one clear flood of resin goes over the whole piece, cures glass-hard and is polished by hand to a mirror gloss. That single clear layer is the surface you see and touch.
It is the reason a panel catches every light in a room, and the reason it needs so little looking after: a soft dry cloth for dust, a damp one for a mark, and no glass cleaner or solvents, which cloud the gloss. The care guide has the rest.
Who draws the design and who pours the piece?
Tedooo draws it; we pour it. The design arrives from Tedooo's design technology, the same system that draws every custom piece sold on Tedooo, in about a minute. Everything after that is done by hand at our bench: a machine has never touched the resin.
We are a small resin studio, and every piece is poured, layered and sealed by hand for one particular pet or person. Every sale of ours goes through Tedooo's checkout, and every review on the site is a verified purchase there. More about the studio is under our resin.
Questions this leaves
Is a resin portrait the same as a photo under resin?
No. Nothing is printed. The portrait is a design drawn from your photograph, then built up in layers of tinted resin or painted onto wood by hand. Your photograph has a single purpose, the drawing of the design, and it is wiped once the order is complete.
Can it be of a person rather than a pet?
Yes. Most of what we pour is a dog or a cat, but the same panels, ornaments and wood slices are made of couples, a parent with a newborn, two friends on a road trip, or someone you have lost. One subject facing the camera with the eyes visible works best, whoever it is.
Does the gold leaf go on top of the portrait?
No. On the glitter panel the glitter and the gold leaf are laid first, under the portrait, so they sit in the depth of the piece and the portrait reads over them. The clear flood then seals everything together as one surface.
