How do I hang a resin panel?

A Glazera resin panel hangs on a single screw and arrives ready to hang: drive one screw into the wall, hang the panel on it and square it up. The ornament hangs from its own chain on a hook or a branch, and the wood slice does not hang at all: it stands on the easel that comes with it.

How does each piece go up?

A panel hangs, an ornament dangles and a wood slice stands. The ornament brings its chain and the wood slice its easel; a panel needs one screw in the wall.

How do I hang the panel on one screw?

Choose the spot, drive one screw into the wall where you want the panel's top edge to sit, hang the panel on it and nudge it square. There is no wire to tension and no second fixing to level against.

  1. Hold the panel to the wall and mark where its top edge should sit.
  2. Drive a single screw there, into a fixing that suits the wall.
  3. Hang the panel and step back; one screw lets you square it with a fingertip.
  4. Dust the gloss with a soft dry cloth once it is up.

A 50 × 50 cm panel is a bigger pour than a 30, so give it a fixing that is sound for the wall rather than a pin. If you are unsure what the back of yours is fitted with, ask us before you drill.

Which wall should a resin panel go on?

One that gets daylight without taking the midday sun straight on. The gloss is made to catch light moving across a room, and it keeps its clarity longest out of hours of strong direct sun.

The 30 cm panel is for a landing, a desk or a narrow passage; the 50 fills the space over a couch or a console. Which of the two to choose is the subject of the sizing guide. Buyers hang them in entryways, above sideboards and on living-room walls, and the photographs on the reviews page show a few.

Where does an ornament hang?

From its own chain, wherever there is something to hang it on: a branch of the tree, a hook in a window, a kitchen cabinet knob. It is 10 cm across, about the width of a hand, so it reads from across a room.

Buyers have sent photographs of theirs in a window with the cat nose to nose with it, and on a cabinet while someone bakes behind it. Keep it out of the strongest sun and it hangs anywhere. The chain is fitted at the studio along with the thin gold rim.

How does the wood slice stand?

On the small easel that comes with it. A wood slice wants a shelf, a mantel or a console rather than a nail: it is a real tree round with its bark edge, poured over, and it is made to sit at eye level on a surface.

Stand the easel where it will not be knocked, set the slice on it and turn it so the portrait faces the room. A 30 cm slice sits on a bookshelf; a 50 takes a mantel or a sideboard. If a slice arrives without its easel, write to us. Everything we pour is on the shop.

Questions this leaves

Does the panel come with the screw?

The panel arrives ready to hang on a single screw. Any sound screw and fixing that suits your wall will do, at the height of the panel's top edge. If you want to know exactly what the back is fitted with before you drill, write to us and we will say.

Can I lean a panel instead of hanging it?

Yes. A 30 cm panel leans on a shelf or a sideboard as well as it hangs; a shelf is one of the places we suggest it for. A 50 cm panel is better on the wall, where its single screw holds it square and nothing can knock it forward.

Can the wood slice be hung on the wall?

It is made to stand on its easel, and that is how we send it. If you want yours on a wall, write to us before you order and we will say plainly whether that works for the size you have in mind.
